"Short films from Viljandi" provides a good opportunity at the end of the year to take a look back at the hometown and places that many people enjoy recognizing. Two short films from the archive of the Estonian National Broadcasting Company will be screened consecutively at the session. "The Key" (1970) The moody music film was shot in the town of Viljandi and by the lake. The central characters are Mart Pärna, St. Bernard Cardinal and poodle Tuti-Triinu. Katrin Männiko, Tarmo Pihlap, Oleg Melnik, Lauri Nebel, Rein Laos sing and play instruments (Boris Lehtlaan sings). Script by Eri Klas, cinematographer Anton Mutt, director Elmo Lööve. "Järvelinn Viljandi" (1983) All Estonians know the song about the Viljandi boatman, and in their imaginations, there is probably still a romantic aura around this town. The perspective from which the camera sees the city is somewhat romantic. The narration text is read by Jüri Krjukov. Screenwriter Vello Lattik, director-cinematographer Mati Põldre. Viljandi Kogukonnakino is an initiative initiated by Viljandi's value film enthusiasts, which brings to viewers value films, cinema classics every Monday evening, and from time to time, Special Mondays with a program of documentary films from around the world fit into the program.
