My neighbor Totoro

Totoro is the most iconic character in Miyazaki's work. This great, soft and furry creature has become a favorite of children and adults both in Japan and in other parts of the world thanks to its sympathetic and mystical nature. The film tells the heartfelt story of two sisters who move to the countryside with their father to be closer to their mother who is in hospital. Getting used to the new home also includes exploring its surroundings, and so one day the younger sister comes across mysterious creatures - Totoros. Gradually, the girls become friends with them and together they go on adventures and learn about the magical world of spirits, where you can ride the Cat Bus and fly over the forests. "My Neighbor Totoro" is a powerful feel-good film that melts the hearts of the viewers and is able to give the world a picture of a world that is good and beautiful, despite the danger and pain hidden in it. All this is accompanied by Tokuma Shoten's legendary soundtrack, which has even been written about in books. The proceeds of the screening will be donated to the Ukrainian army.
