Peeter Simm 70+1 - 24.09-15.10.2024 A Peeter Simm retrospective will be held at Kinos Art from September 24 to October 15, where the filmmaker himself will introduce his work and present selected works. The death of an old gypsy, a girl lying on the railroad tracks, a son's enmity against his father and a girl stuck in a wheelchair. Over the course of 72 hours, the destinies of strangers and old friends intertwine, our heroes are pushed into situations no one would willingly find themselves in. Tragedy and grotesque, drama and melodrama are mixed. Everyone has to go through a journey that makes them more tolerant and understanding. Can only the enemy help in the last trouble? Can love kill friendship? Will a random person resolve a tension that has plagued them for decades? What to do when the truth brings suffering? "Lonely Island" is a lyrical-grotesque mosaic portrait of a lonely urban environment where people live as isolated islands, which form a large archipelago from afar. The director of the film is Peeter Simm, the screenwriters are Mihkel Ulman and Peeter Simm. Operator-director Belarusian Vadim Poteev, artists Mare Raidma and Aleksandr Kholotsov. The action of the film takes place both in Belarus and Estonia, the film was shot in Estonia, Latvia and Belarus. In Estonian, Belarusian and Russian with English subtitles.
