The Cold War

Wiktor is a composer. Zula is a much younger, vivacious and optimistic girl. The girl is even characterized by the way she tells about her past: my father accidentally messed me up with my mother, and I had to use a knife to explain his mistake to him. Wiktor wants to emigrate to the West, Zula is satisfied with her homeland. It is a story of boundless love between two people, which still has frameworks - Stalinism, the thaw, the Cold War, the Iron Curtain. Two loving people cannot be without each other and at the same time cannot be together. Oscar-winning Pawel Pawlikowski ("East") emphasizes that he is not a professional director and says that he only makes films about what is interesting to him at the moment, and not about the need to be successful. The 60-year-old director wants to understand with the film what was the love of his own parents, father and mother.
