Maria has to make peace with herself when it turns out that her husband wants a divorce. Maria (40) tries to balance parenthood with a demanding career, while her second husband, Sigmund, is often on business trips. It's hard to resist the tension, and so their marriage begins to fall apart. Despite Maria's desperate efforts to save their relationship, Sigmund informs her of his desire for a divorce. She is forced to face her deepest fears and this brings out grief, anger and subconscious memories from her past. Maria finally realizes that the key to solving the situation is her relationship with her mother and her inner self-image. An elaborate confrontation with her mother finally brings her into contact with herself, and when she meets him for a conversation, the pain of abandonment is no longer the same. A film about ending relationships between people, but also about a woman's opportunities to learn about herself, grow and cope with unconscious and problematic patterns within herself.
